Home Bespoke Tours The Royal Scandic Capitals and Majestic Fjords Discover the capitals of the three Scandinavian countries during this one tour, packed with activities, city tours, and nature recreation. Acquaint yourself with the magnificent Bergen city, which once had been a capital of Norway and played an important role in the European trade of goods. This tour is a well-balanced blend of city sightseeing and nature activities, which gives you a chance to discover the Scandinavian region from all angles. Take the world’s most scenic railway ride and embark on a cruise across Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A variety of optional activities allows you to fill your journey with something you would lack otherwise. The carefully crafted schedule of this journey helps travelers to avoid sightseeing exhaustion, while providing fantastic opportunities for enjoying the Scandinavian nature. Previous tour itinerary Day 1 Arrive in Copenhagen - Arrival to the Copenhagen airport, according to the flight schedule. The capital of the island kingdom of Denmark, the city of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, romantic streets and gorgeous restaurants welcomes you. After hotel check-in, you will have an opportunity to either stroll the city’s neighbourhoods or have a rest in your room after the flight. The group meets the tour leader during the welcome dinner in the evening. Day 2 Explore Copenhagen and head to Roskilde - Breakfast in the hotel and checkout. After that, you will embark on a Copenhagen tour with a local guide: you will see the historical city center, the Christianborgs Palace (Danish parliament), the fairy little mermaid, palaces, canals and streets; you will listen to the stories about how the inhabitants of the Danish capital live. After the city tour comes to its end, you will continue your acquaintance with Denmark. The ancient town of Roskilde, founded back in the times of the Vikings, will perfectly narrate about the Danish kings and culture. The town is situated just within a half-a-hour drive from Copenhagen and is famous to many by its gothic cathedral, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. We will stop for a lunch in Roskilde and, after that, come over to Aarhus – the second most populated city in Denmark, where we will stay overnight. Day 3 Explore Aarhus and take a ferry to Bergen - Breakfast in the hotel. Today, you will have free time to acquaint yourself with Aarhus until lunch. The city was established at the end of the 8th century by the Vikings. Today, this is a major business and cultural center, Denmark’s second-largest city. City-museum Den Gamle By (The Old City), which represents a small town full of old-time edifices, is regarded as one of the most extraordinary places. Those buildings were brought to Aarhus from all corners of Denmark. On the streets of that town, you will have a chance to see “local inhabitants,” dressed in vintage clothes – they are the museum’s workers, who welcome the guests every day. We also recommend you to visit the Viking Ships Museum. After lunch, we will head to the port city of Hirtshals, where we can board a cruise ship and set out to Norway. Fjord Line is a Norwegian ferry operator offering service between Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The cruise ships feature restaurants, cafés, as well as duty-free shops, which every passenger may use at will. Day 4 Explore the city of Bergen - We arrive in Bergen in the afternoon. Right after getting off the cruise ship, you will have a 2-hour long city tour. Once the tour comes to an end, you will have an opportunity to continue your acquaintance with the city, as well as to buy the things you liked and souvenirs in the city’s stores and souvenir shops. We recommend you to reach the Fløyen observation deck by using the funicular way. You will have a chance to have a snack in a café there. At 19:00, the bus will take you to the beautiful Panorama hotel, located on the Sotra peninsula, and you will have a dinner there. Day 5 Nature activities and recreation near Bergen - Breakfast in the hotel. This day is dedicated to the recreation and rest in nature. The hotel’s location allows to spend the entire day outdoors by taking advantage of the hotel’s services. You may choose to sail a RIB boat or opt kayaking, rent a row boat for fishing or a short coastal voyage. Or, perhaps, you would just wish to go for a walk on one of the tourist hiking trails near the hotel. It’s up to you. Day 6 Enjoy fantastic views of the Hardangerfjord area - After having breakfast in the hotel, we will head to acquaint ourselves with one of the most picturesque areas of Norway – Hardangerfjord. Marvelous views open up just around every road’s corner, and one would surely want to both remember them and capture a photo of. You will make a stop near an unusual waterfall, beneath which you can walk. And your road will lie along the apple farms – this region is best known for thanks to them. If there will be enough time, you will stop at one of the farms to eat and purchase some of their edible products (like juices and jam), which are made right in that place. You will stay overnight in the area of Voss or Ulvik. Day 7 Flåmsbana ride and fjord cruise - Early check out at the hotel. Sognefjord is called as the King of Fjords – it tends to be the longest and deepest one. Today, you will head to meet this fjord and its branches – Aurlandfjord and Nærøyfjord. The train will depart from Voss to Myrdal – a small alpine train station, from which – after being transferred to the old historic wagons of the Flåm railway (Flåmsbana) – you will move to Flåm. There are restaurants and cafés where you can have a bite, as well as a huge souvenir store in Flåm. After that, a 2-hour long cruise boat ride through the fjords will await you. After arriving at the final point of the cruise, you will get on a bus and head to Lillehammer, the capital of the 1994 Winter Olympics, where you will stay overnight in a hotel close to the city. Day 8 Acquaint yourself with Oslo - After having breakfast in the hotel, you will set out to Oslo. A local guide will acquaint you with the Norwegian capital. During a 3-hour long city tour, you will see the city’s most interesting sights and visit the Gustav Vigeland Sculpture Park. After the tour, continue acquainting yourself with the city center on your own. Shopping. You stay overnight in Radisson hotel 12min drive from the city center. Day 9 Arrival in Stockholm - Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, you will start a transfer to Stockholm with a short stop for a lunch. Finally, you will arrive in the capital of Sweden around the evening. Hotel check-in You can spend the evening either in one of the cafés or by strolling the nearby streets and absorbing the city’s atmosphere. Overnight in Park Inn Radisson hotel 4.5km from the city center. Day 10 Explore Stockholm during a city tour - After having breakfast, there comes the time of a detailed acquaintance with the city with the help of our local guide. The 3-hour long city tour will give you an opportunity to see the city from different angles, view the most famous places, including the Royal Palace, city hall and the old town. You can also visit one of Stockholm’s museums – such as the museum of the world-famous Vasa Ship – on your own, or embark on a boat tour through the canals. Day 11 Departure home - It is a goodbye day with Stockholm and Sweden for you. After breakfast and hotel check-out, you will board a bus to the airport and fly home, according to the flight schedule. Read more Frequently asked questions How it works Pricing Travel support Can I book an itinerary exactly as it is on your website? Not quite. Every traveller is unique, and so is every itinerary we create. The sample itineraries on our website are meant to inspire you and give you an idea of what’s possible. Your personal Travel Consultant will design a bespoke trip tailored specifically to your preferences, interests, and travel style. What’s the difference between a private trip and a group tour? All our trips are private and tailor-made. We do not offer scheduled group tours. Instead, we focus on fully customized itineraries designed just for you and your travel companions. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, with family, or with friends, every detail will be crafted to suit your individual needs. How do we start planning a custom itinerary? It all begins with a conversation. Once you reach out to us, one of our Travel Consultants will get in touch to learn more about your travel style, interests, and must-sees. From there, we’ll craft a personalised itinerary, refining it with your feedback until it’s just right. Once confirmed, we handle all the logistics, so you can simply enjoy the journey. How long does the planning process take? It depends on the complexity of your itinerary and how much customisation is required. Some trips come together in a matter of days, while others – especially those with special arrangements or remote destinations – can take a few weeks. We recommend getting in touch as early as possible to ensure availability and a seamless experience. Can I make changes to my itinerary after booking? Absolutely. We understand that plans can evolve, and we’ll do our best to accommodate any adjustments. Changes may be subject to availability and potential additional costs, but we’ll always strive to make your trip as flexible as possible. What added value do you provide? Planning a seamless and memorable trip takes time and expertise – that’s where we come in. From itinerary design and booking to on-the-ground logistics, we take care of everything, ensuring a hassle-free experience. We work with trusted local partners, personally vet every element of your journey, and remain available 24/7 should you need assistance. With us, you’re not just booking a trip – you’re investing in a carefully curated travel experience. Can you arrange a rental car for my trip? Yes, we can arrange a rental car for you. Once we discuss the terms and pricing, you can decide whether to book through us or arrange it independently. We’ll ensure that you have the right vehicle for your itinerary and provide recommendations for driving routes and road conditions. Why aren’t all meals included in the price? We believe discovering local cuisine is an essential part of your journey, and everyone has different tastes. To give you flexibility, we typically include daily breakfast and occasional lunches or dinners. In remote areas, such as in hotels near fjords or remote villages, dinner is usually included. Your final itinerary will specify which meals are covered. How does your pricing work? The prices on our website are indicative and based on two or more travellers sharing the cost of accommodation, transport, and experiences. Once you get in touch, we will provide a customised quote based on your travel dates, group size, accommodation choices, and any special requests. Since every trip is tailor-made, the final cost will reflect your unique itinerary. Are international flights included in the price? No, international flights are not included. Many of our travellers prefer to book their own flights using frequent-flyer miles or loyalty points. However, if you need assistance finding the best routes or timings, we’re happy to help. All regional and domestic flights within your itinerary, as well as other transport, are included in the cost. What if my flight is delayed or cancelled? If your flight is delayed or cancelled, we recommend informing us as soon as possible so we can assist with any necessary changes to your itinerary. If you have booked your flights independently, you should contact your airline directly for rebooking options. However, we will do our best to adjust transfers, accommodations, and activities to keep your trip running smoothly. Do you provide electronic documents and itineraries? Yes! We are committed to sustainable travel, so we provide all travel documents, itineraries, and confirmations electronically. Your personalised itinerary will be accessible through a mobile-friendly application, ensuring you have all the details at your fingertips without the need for printed documents. What happens if I need assistance during my trip? We provide 24/7 support throughout your journey. Whether you have a last-minute question, need to adjust your itinerary, or require urgent assistance, our team is just a call or message away. We work closely with trusted local partners to ensure you always have someone to turn to, no matter where you are. Do I need an international driver’s licence for a self-drive tour? In most cases, a valid driving licence from your home country is sufficient for driving in the Nordic region. However, some rental companies may require an International Driving Permit (IDP), especially if your licence is not in English or does not use the Roman alphabet. We recommend checking in advance to ensure you have the correct documentation. You will also need to present your licence for activities such as snowmobile safaris. Do I need a visa to travel to the Nordic region? Visa requirements depend on your nationality and the countries you plan to visit. Many travellers from Europe, North America, and certain other regions can enter visa-free for short stays. However, starting in 2025, visitors from visa-exempt countries (such as the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.) will need to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) permit before entering the Schengen Area, which includes most Nordic countries. The ETIAS application is a quick online process and is valid for multiple trips over three years. Please note that the launch date of the system is currently unknown. Since entry requirements can change, we recommend checking with your local embassy or asking your Travel Consultant for guidance. While we can provide information, it is usually the traveller’s responsibility to arrange visas or travel authorisations.
