Upon arrival in Oslo, you’ll transfer to your hotel and check-in. After your flight, take some time to relax and adjust to the new time zone.

Travel back in time: Røros

Embark on an exciting journey to the charming town of Røros today. Get ready for a scenic drive of approximately 6 hours, where you will admire the beautiful landscapes of Norway. If you’re an Olympic enthusiast, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to stop at the historic town of Lillehammer. This is the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics and a must-visit destination for any sports fan.

Along the way, take advantage of the numerous opportunities to snap some fantastic photos and enjoy a delicious meal in one of the quaint towns. These pit stops will break up the long drive and allow you to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Marvel at the beautiful wooden buildings, quaint cobbled streets, and the iconic Røros Church as you learn about the town’s rich cultural and mining heritage.

Drive to Trondheim

The drive from Røros to Trondheim is scenic, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings and opportunities to stop at popular spots along the way. The drive takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on your chosen road.

The city center of Trondheim boasts an attractive downtown area, with the charming and picturesque Bakklandet neighborhood renowned for its brightly colored wooden houses, a hallmark of traditional Norwegian architecture. However, it’s also a dynamic and bustling urban hub, a characteristic not commonly found in northern Norway.

Mosjøen

As you drive, you’ll pass through rolling hills and forests, dotted with small farms and villages. The landscape gradually changes as you get further north, becoming more mountainous and rugged.

Along the way, you may want to stop at one of the many scenic viewpoints to take in the views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. You may also want to explore one of the many rivers and lakes that are found in the area, known for their excellent fishing and other recreational opportunities.

As you approach Mosjøen, you’ll enter the heart of the Vefsn municipality, which is known for its beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Mosjøen itself is a charming town that sits on the shores of the glacier-fed Lake Vefsna, surrounded by forests and rolling hills.

Saltstraumen Whirpools and Bodø

Today you will drive further north toward Bodø, stopping at Saltstraumen.

Saltstraumen is a breathtaking natural wonder located near the town of Bodø in northern Norway. It is a narrow sound that connects the Skjerstadfjorden to the Saltenfjorden and is home to one of the world’s strongest tidal currents. Here, massive amounts of seawater surge through the narrow sound, creating a unique and spectacular sight as the currents collide and swirl in a dramatic display of power. The boat trip will take you out into the middle of the sound, where you’ll have a front-row seat to the swirling currents and turbulent waters.

Drive and ferry to Lofoten

The ferry ride is a chance to admire the breathtaking views of the surrounding fjords and mountains, and to soak in the fresh sea air.

Eventually, you’ll arrive in Svolvær, the largest town in the Lofoten Islands and a popular hub for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. Svolvær is surrounded by stunning landscapes and offers numerous opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the local culture and history.

From Reine to Å

Reine is a small fishing village located on the island of Moskenesøya, and is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling in the Lofoten Islands.
